Felt so bad ... my friends were planning to go to Baga tomorrow for the Side A gig ... apparently, Baga's website is not reliable ... Side A is scheduled on March 7, instead of tomorrow (March 4) ... it's a good thing they asked me to confirm first the sched ... otherwise, my friends will be in Baga but with no Side A ...

Caution : kindly call first Baga (831-2242) to confirm the gigs above. It seems that it is subject to changes without prior notice.

Went to Hard Rock tonight to catch the Side A gig. They only had one set. They were already done by 11pm. Wish they could perform longer but Kearney Street was next in line.

Sound system was so bad. Side A was a real pro. They still managed to perform well despite the awful sound system. Wish Hard Rock would do something about it. People pay to listen to good music. Thank God, our entrance fee was waived because we were "Side A Guests". But I feel for those who paid. Good thing Side A performance compensated for it.

Ayala Center Cebu - The Terraces

A Perfect day to watch the Country's Premier Band --- Side A! :)

Sunday

Puerto Pension - Puerto Princesa

We were determined to see Underground River in Palawan - one of the candidates for the 7th Natural Wonders of the World ... thus, we made Puerto Princesa our jump off point to Sabang ...

We were surfing the net where to stay in Puerto Princesa City ... Among those frequently mentioned were Legend Hotel, Casa Linda and Puerto Pension ... Since Legend Hotel was quite pricey for one of our companions, we were down to Casa Linda & Puerto Pension ... However, Casa Linda was fully booked ... We had no choice then but to try Puerto Pension

We called their reservation(+63 48 433 2969) ... they didn't even demand for a deposit ... but we wanted to make sure that we would have rooms when we arrive, so we insisted that we will deposit at least a certain portion of the total cost ... we did a bank transfer via RCBC ... then, off we go to Puerto Princesa ...

Rates :
Double Occupancy - Php 1560
Single Occupancy - Php 945
*rate includes free breakfast, airport transfer, wifi internet*

Verdict ??? ... Puerto Pension proved to be a great place! :)

yup ... Brownout is very common in Puerto Princesa!

Double Room

Single Room

... the mini bar

... the TV & electric fan (btw, there's also aircon)

... the bathroom

... the hallway outside the room (perfect place to surf the net)

... four floors (top most is the restaurant)

... the Puerto Pension grounds

... perfect for afternoon tea

... aerial view of the grounds

... the restaurant (the mangrove design of the ceiling looks a bit yucky! hehe)

... breakfast price in case you want an upgrade of the regular

... view from the restaurant - the Bay Walk

... perfect view while having breakfast

Dos Palmas - Palawan

We had our Planning Session in Dos Palmas, Palawan ... We were excited yet at the same time apprehensive ... After all, it was in Dos Palmas where the Burnhams were kidnapped by Abu Sayaff and where Rico Yan had passed away ... but nonetheless, despite the fear of the living (Abus) and the dead (Rico), we were determined to enjoy it ... after all, we knew how expensive it is to stay in this place! :)

Service - great if you are on vacation ... but they need some improvements in handling corporate sessions ... our break-out rooms weren't ready when they were supposed to be ... we had wasted at least 30 minutes trying to get it sorted out ... however, for the island hopping and everyday requests, they are superb!

Rooms : okay ... no TV, but who needs one if there are other things to occupy yourself :)

Food : good! ... they always had a good selection of menu .... breakfast, in-betweens, lunch and dinner were all good!

Amenities : we tried the karaoke room and the table tennis facilities ... the kayaks, swimming pools, bikes ... you definitely won't get bored!

Entertainment : in-house bands are so-so ... could use some improvements ...

Give-aways : they had gifts when you arrive (some sort of a bamboo musical instrument) and when you depart (rainmaker) ... great souvenirs from a great place!

... Would I come back? ... Definitely! ... but have to save first ... it's quite pricey ... but you'll get your money's worth!

Had a great time last night in the Love 2 Love 2 Love concert. It is better the Dec 1 show. Just the right combi of mushy-mushy songs and upbeat tempo ...

Of course, Side A performed perfectly as always ... Leevon's "Later" is super kilig ... But I was hoping he'd sing again "The Man who Can't be Moved" .... JoeyG's voice is still unrivaled ... Nice to hear Ernie & Naldy solos ... I was surprised Ned didn't have any solo at all ...
